Italian referee Daniele Orsato to officiate the World Cup semi-final between Argentina and Croatia.

The World Cup semifinal between Croatia and Argentina has been assigned to Italian referee Daniele Orsato and VAR Massimiliano Irrati. It will take place on December the 13th at 7 p.m. Qatar time

Given that he presided over both Argentina’s 2-0 group stage victory over Mexico and the tournament’s opening match between hosts Qatar and Ecuador, Orsato has emerged as one of the leading candidates to officiate the match.

He missed the entire Round of 16 and quarterfinals due to rest, but he plays in the semifinals. The Serie A referee will see a lot of familiar names because Lautaro Martinez, Marcelo Brozovic, Angel Di Maria, Ivan Perisic, Leandro Paredes, Nikola Vlasic, and Paulo Dybala are on the two teams.

In this competition, Orsato officiated only one match, Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Mexico. With Croatia, he officiated two victories and England’s 1-0 victory at EURO 2020.
