The World Cup champion, who is still under contract with Serie A powerhouse Juventus, received a significant suspension in February 2024. This has effectively paused his career, preventing the 31-year-old from training with or competing for his Italian club.

The ban resulted from failed doping tests in 2023, where Pogba’s elevated testosterone levels were confirmed by a positive ‘B’ sample. The French midfielder is now challenging the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

In a recent interview with Forbes, Pogba expressed his struggle with the situation: “It’s difficult to be totally honest. Football has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. However, I have my family, my faith, my friends, and my fans who have supported me, which makes things easier. All will be well.”

He also spoke about his efforts to overturn the ban: “Although I can’t speak so much about this, all roads lead to the appeal date. Until then, my focus is on staying fit and looking forward to the appeal.”

Pogba remains under contract with Juventus until 2026, although his current terms have been minimized. As it stands, he will not be eligible to play again until August 2027, by which time he will be 35.
