Inter Milan’s standout player, Lautaro Martinez, has been found guilty by a Milan court for what is deemed as an “unjustified termination” in the case of a babysitter who was suffering from a severe illness and later passed away. This revelation comes from reports originating in Italy.

According to Italian news outlet Fanpage, the Labor division of the Milan Court has determined that the dismissal of a 27-year-old woman was “unlawful,” and Lautaro Martinez, who serves as Inter’s captain, has been instructed to provide compensation to the deceased babysitter’s family.

As per the report, Martinez had been employing the babysitter regularly to look after his child, but her hospitalization due to “severe abdominal pain” occurred eight months into her employment.

Her hospitalization continued “indefinitely,” and Martinez decided to terminate her employment, citing that she had exceeded the allowable maximum absences due to illness. Tragically, the young woman passed away several months later.

Calcio E Finanza reports that the girl’s legal representatives promptly contested her dismissal, while the player’s legal team previously rejected efforts to settle the matter before it reached the Labor Judge of the Milan Court.

Unfortunately, the girl passed away during the legal proceedings, leading to the case being taken over by her heirs.

The Milan Court has deemed the dismissal “unlawful,” with Martinez being directed to cover the legal expenses and make a monetary compensation to the heirs of the young woman.

In response to the verdict, Martinez posted a statement in Spanish on his official Instagram account, explaining that they had hired someone who was already unwell and a lifelong friend.

The post emphasizes the extensive support they provided to the woman and her family, including travel expenses and assistance with hospital arrangements and accommodations.

He alleges that the family waited until their daughter was critically ill and no longer lucid before seeking monetary gain. Martinez expresses his disbelief that they would exploit their daughter’s death in this manner.
