Liverpool set to sign Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi

Armin Pecsi

Liverpool are finalizing a deal to bring highly-rated Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi from Puskás Akadémia to Anfield. The 20-year-old has already agreed to personal terms with the club, with negotiations between the two sides progressing smoothly.

Pecsi had an impressive 2024/25 season in Hungary’s top flight, making 36 appearances and recording 11 clean sheets. His shot-stopping ability and command of the penalty area have caught the attention of Liverpool’s recruitment team, who view him as a long-term prospect.

The move aligns with Liverpool’s strategy of acquiring young talents with high potential. Pecsi is expected to initially serve as an understudy, possibly going out on loan before competing for a first-team role in the future.

Liverpool’s transfer activity has been busy, with the club also working on deals for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. Pecsi’s arrival marks another step in the club’s efforts to strengthen its squad under new manager Arne Slot.

An official announcement is expected soon, with Liverpool securing what will be a record sale for Puskás Akadémia.
