Everton have confirmed that veteran defender Ashley Young will leave the club at the end of the season, alongside goalkeepers Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia. Young, 39, joined the Toffees on a free transfer in 2023 and made 68 appearances.

Despite reports suggesting a contract extension, Young denied the claim and bid farewell, thanking coaches Sean Dyche and Moyes, the staff, teammates, and fans for their support. Begovic, 37, rejoined Everton last year but did not feature in any games this season. Virginia, who previously spent time at Arsenal’s academy, made eight senior appearances for Everton.
Moyes thanked all three players for their service and wished them well for the future. Young, who also played for Manchester United, Inter Milan and earned 39 England caps, has no plans to retire and is already active in punditry, appearing on talkSPORT and Sky Sports.
