Aston Villa have renewed their interest in Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra with a £25 million offer. The 21-year-old Senegal international has been on Villa’s radar since last season, and the club has monitored him closely in recent weeks.

Diarra, a creative and versatile midfielder, has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs, including Everton and Nottingham Forest. Strasbourg, owned by BlueCo, the same consortium behind Chelsea, has already rejected a £15m bid from Eintracht Frankfurt but is open to selling to the Premier League. Chelsea’s involvement could influence Diarra’s future, given their shared ownership.

Diarra has earned nine caps for Senegal after switching allegiance from France’s U18 side and is seen as ready for the next step in his career. Meanwhile, Villa are also looking to offload right-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden, with Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, leading the chase. Coventry are prepared to pay £5m plus add-ons for the 22-year-old, who impressed during a loan spell at Preston.
