Hull City are reportedly preparing to sack manager Ruben Selles after just five months in charge, following the club’s narrow escape from relegation. The Tigers avoided the drop only on goal difference after a 1-1 draw at Portsmouth on the final day of the season.
Selles, 41, who previously managed Southampton, registered just nine wins in 28 games with eight draws and 11 losses. Club chiefs are now seeking new leadership, with first-team coach Tobias Loveland and assistant James Oliver-Pearce also expected to depart. This move will mark Hull’s fourth managerial change in a year and the fifth under owner Acun Ilicali. Candidates linked to the role include Phillip Cocu, Steve Cooper, and Tayfun Korkut.
Meanwhile, former boss Liam Rosenior, dismissed last May over differing football philosophies, now manages Strasbourg in France’s Ligue 1. Off the pitch, Hull captain Lewie Coyle was recently involved in a street altercation, prompting a club investigation after a video surfaced online.
