Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly set to leave Real Madrid before the start of the Club World Cup to take over as Brazil’s new head coach. The 65-year-old has informed senior players of his decision, following a disappointing season where Real crashed out of the Champions League and lost the Copa del Rey final to Barcelona.

Ancelotti is expected to sign a one-year deal through the 2026 World Cup and begin his role in June. Despite being contracted to Real Madrid until 2026, pressure from poor results hastened his exit. The club may appoint Director of Football Santi Solari as interim manager or move quickly to secure top target Xabi Alonso.

There is also speculation about a surprise move for Jurgen Klopp. Meanwhile, Ancelotti’s son, Davide, will not follow him to Brazil immediately as he pursues his own head coaching opportunities. Ancelotti rejoined Real in 2021, winning multiple major trophies during his second spell at the Bernabéu.
