Manchester City’s hopes of signing Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso have been reignited as the Serie A side closes in on a replacement. City had shown interest in Cambiaso, 25, during the January window and are expected to revive their pursuit this summer.

Juventus are reportedly targeting former Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares, currently on loan at Lazio, as Cambiaso’s successor. Tavares, also 25, has an obligation-to-buy clause of just over £5 million and a 40% sell-on clause benefiting Arsenal. Although injuries disrupted his season after a strong start with eight assists, Lazio is ready to complete the purchase and potentially sell him on for a reported £34 million.

If a sale occurs, Arsenal would receive a significant financial boost from the proceeds. Juventus is also considering Club Brugge’s Maxim De Cuyper as another option. Meanwhile, Manchester City, despite a below-par season, have secured a spot in the FA Cup final after defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Wembley.
