Gareth Southgate appears to have stepped away from football management by formally changing his profession to “company director” in official documents. The 54-year-old, who guided England to the Euro 2024 final, had previously stated he would not return to coaching for at least a year.

His new title was listed in MAS Investment Holdings Limited, the company managing his £6.2 million property portfolio. The update strengthens speculation that his managerial career is over, echoing Gary Lineker’s post-Euro 2024 remarks that suggested Southgate had managed his final game.

Though previously linked with Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Southgate has instead taken on less demanding roles, including as a UEFA technical observer and visiting lecturer at Harvard Business School. He is currently working on a self-help book focused on leadership, expected to draw on his experiences from leading England to back-to-back European Championship finals.
