Juventus have parted ways with manager Thiago Motta just eight months into his tenure. Despite losing only three league games, his record of 13 wins and 13 draws in 29 Serie A matches left Juventus fifth in the league, 12 points behind leaders Inter Milan.

The club has a history of avoiding mid-season managerial changes, making Motta only the fourth coach sacked midway through a season in the last 50 years. In an official statement, Juventus thanked Motta and his staff for their efforts and wished them success in the future. His replacement, Igor Tudor, returns to the club 18 years after his playing career there ended in 2007.

Tudor, who played 174 games for Juventus from 1998 to 2007, previously served as assistant manager under Andrea Pirlo between 2020 and 2021. His managerial career includes stints at Marseille, Lazio, Udinese, and Galatasaray. Tudor will lead his first training session immediately.
