Former LaLiga star Andrija Delibasic has died at the age of 43 following a two-year battle with brain cancer. The Montenegro striker, who earned 21 caps for his country, scored a memorable goal in a 2-2 draw against England during a Euro 2012 qualifier.

Delibasic played for various Spanish clubs, including Real Mallorca, Real Sociedad, Hercules, and Rayo Vallecano. He also enjoyed success with Partizan Belgrade, winning two Serbian titles, and contributed to Benfica’s 2005 Portuguese league triumph. After retiring, Delibasic transitioned to coaching, leading Montenegrin club Mornar from 2021 to 2023.

Tributes poured in from his former clubs, with Hercules highlighting his key role in their promotion to the Primera Liga in 2009-10. Mallorca also expressed condolences to his family and loved ones. Delibasic’s career also saw him play for Braga, Beira-Mar, AEK Athens, and Ratchaburi, before ending his career at Sutjeska in his hometown, Niksic.
