Swansea City has sacked manager Luke Williams following a disastrous run of seven consecutive defeats, leaving the club 17th in the Championship. Assistant coach Ryan Harley and first-team analyst George Lawtey have also departed.

Williams, who took charge 13 months ago, saw his team suffer a 3-1 loss to Stoke City over the weekend, leaving them just eight points above the relegation zone. Chairman Andy Coleman acknowledged Williams’ efforts but admitted that recent performances did not meet the required standard. Alan Sheehan has been appointed interim manager, with Martyn Margetson and Kris O’Leary joining his coaching staff.

However, fans have expressed strong opposition to Sheehan staying beyond a few matches, citing his poor record in a previous caretaker role. The search for a permanent head coach is underway, with names like Gary O’Neil, Steven Gerrard, Luis Boa Morte, and George Boateng linked to the job. Swansea’s next fixture is against managerless Blackburn Rovers.
