Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is eyeing a deadline-day move for AC Milan center-back Strahinja Pavlovic in a deal worth £25 million. The 23-year-old Serbian defender, who joined Milan from RB Salzburg last summer, has been a key figure in both Serie A and the Champions League.
Glasner views Pavlovic as a potential long-term replacement for Marc Guehi and wants additional defensive depth following the loss of Trevoh Chalobah and Chadi Riad’s injury. Milan may demand £35 million, but Palace has the funds to negotiate. If Pavlovic proves too expensive, Tiago Djalo, currently on loan at Porto from Juventus, is an alternative option. Palace would consider both loan and permanent deals for the 24-year-old.
The Eagles are also interested in Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, though his £185,000-a-week wages pose a challenge. Additionally, Lyon’s Rayan Cherki, 21, remains on their radar. Palace, currently 13th in the Premier League, face Manchester United next, with a chance to move up to 12th with a victory.
