Arsenal are reportedly looking to bolster their attacking options as Mikel Arteta aims to keep the Gunners in the Premier League title race. With 15 goals to his name this season, Isak, a proven performer in the English top-flight, is said to be high on their radar at the Emirates.
The Daily Mail reports that Isak’s representatives are aware of Arsenal’s interest. However, it’s claimed that the Gunners are unable to fund what would be a British record transfer, potentially exceeding the £115 million ($141m) Chelsea paid for Moises Caicedo in 2023.
While Arsenal are not at risk of breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) or Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), they must remain compliant with those regulations. As such, no offers for Isak—whether in January or the summer of 2025—will be possible unless a significant departure generates a large fee and clears space on the wage bill.
Newcastle, for their part, have no intention of selling Isak. With the striker under contract until 2028, they are committed to his long-term future at St James’ Park and have not set a price on the Sweden international.
