Everton striker Armando Broja suffered a concerning injury during the FA Cup clash against Peterborough, where the Toffees triumphed 2-0. The 23-year-old was stretchered off in the 86th minute after an awkward fall following a tackle by Emmanuel Fernandez.
Broja, who replaced goalscorer Beto in the 65th minute, had rounded goalkeeper Nicholas Bilokapic before the incident. He was visibly distressed and required oxygen while receiving lengthy medical attention on the pitch. This was just Broja’s sixth appearance for Everton since joining on loan from Chelsea, following a series of prior injuries, including a cruciate ligament injury in 2022 and an Achilles issue earlier this year.
Despite his struggles, the Albanian international has played 38 times for Chelsea but is yet to score for Everton. Following Broja’s exit, Everton sealed their victory in the 97th minute with Iliman Ndiaye converting a penalty after Jarrad Branthwaite was fouled. The win came on the same day manager Sean Dyche was sacked.
Armando Broja has potentially ruptured his ACL.
