AC Milan is in discussions with Manchester United regarding a potential loan move for England forward Marcus Rashford. However, according to The Times, Milan is only prepared to cover half of his wages. In contrast, United is insisting that any club looking to loan Rashford must take on the majority of his £325,000-a-week salary.
Even at half of that amount, Rashford would become Milan’s highest-paid player, surpassing Alvaro Morata, who currently leads their wage bill at £150,000 per week. If Milan remains firm on their position, United may look to move Rashford elsewhere, with Napoli and Juventus also reportedly expressing interest.
United is keen to offload Rashford to free up funds for new signings, as they need to make space in their squad to strengthen manager Ruben Amorim’s team. Having been left out of recent matchday squads, Rashford has expressed his desire to leave, but finding a solution for a January transfer remains challenging.
Negotiations between Milan and United are expected to continue in hopes of reaching an agreement that benefits all parties before the transfer window closes.
