The TV presenter first caught the attention of Portuguese footballer Dias at the MTV Europe Music Awards held in Manchester on November 10, 2024. Jama made a statement at the event in a dress reminiscent of Liz Hurley’s famous safety pin dress from the 1994 premiere of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral.’
A source informed The Sun: “Maya and Ruben exchanged contact information at the EMAs and have been in touch since, but their connection intensified in early December. After Ruben’s injury sidelined him during the busy holiday schedule, he eagerly seized the opportunity to welcome 2025 with Maya in Spain. Ringing in New Year’s Eve together marked a significant step forward in their relationship. They get along excellently and clearly make a lovely couple, but it’s still early in their romance.”
The Sun also reports that Dias, who ended his relationship with Love Island’s Arabella Chi in January 2024, and Jama, who broke up with rapper Stormzy in July of last year, have been quietly dating for about a month after their initial chemistry.
