Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo considered joining Paris Saint-Germain before eventually moving from Real Madrid to Juventus in 2018. According to Evra, Chelsea also expressed interest in signing the Portuguese star, but Arsenal was never an option Ronaldo entertained.
Speaking on RMC Sport, Evra said: “Did Cristiano ever think about PSG? Yes. He had Paris, Arsenal… That was before he chose Juventus in 2018. Chelsea, Juventus, and Paris were on the table. But he said he would never go to Arsenal. He was intrigued by the Parisian project. You can criticize Cristiano, but he’s adaptable and puts in the effort. Just look at what he’s doing in Saudi Arabia—he’s become a Saudi!”
Ronaldo has enjoyed a legendary career, playing for some of the world’s biggest clubs and securing almost every major trophy available. Now 39, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers in history, regardless of the teams he chose to represent.
While Evra has hung up his boots, Ronaldo is making the most of his mid-season break and will return to action with Al-Nassr in early 2025.
