Paul Pogba, a World Cup winner, began his career at Manchester United’s renowned academy and made his senior debut under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011. After just seven competitive appearances, he left for Juventus, but returned to United in 2016 for a record £89 million ($114m) transfer. Over six years at United, Pogba struggled with consistency but made 226 appearances and contributed to winning the Europa League and League Cup. He returned to Juventus in 2022, only to face a doping ban during the 2023-24 season. His initial four-year suspension was reduced to 18 months on appeal, meaning he can resume his career in March 2025.

There has been speculation about Pogba’s next move, with former United striker Louis Saha suggesting that Pogba could be offered the chance to train with Manchester United in the New Year. Saha believes this would be a great opportunity for Pogba to regain his form and that his return to United would provide the team with the physical and skillful midfielder they currently lack. Saha also sees Pogba as an attractive signing for many Premier League clubs as a free agent, emphasizing that the positives of bringing him in outweigh the negatives.

While there is also speculation about Pogba moving to MLS side Inter Miami to join Lionel Messi, it remains unclear whether Manchester United, under new coach Ruben Amorim, have any plans to bring him back to Old Trafford.
