Jadon Sancho is currently on a season-long loan at Chelsea from Manchester United after a high-profile fallout with his former manager, Erik ten Hag, last season. This dispute led to Sancho being excluded from the first team. Although Ten Hag extended an olive branch, welcoming Sancho back into the squad, the 24-year-old opted for a move away from United, joining Chelsea on deadline day with a loan agreement that includes a buy option.

Since arriving at Chelsea, Sancho has been performing well under Enzo Maresca, showing signs of the form he once displayed at Borussia Dortmund. He played a key role in Chelsea’s dramatic 4-3 comeback victory over Tottenham Hotspur, scoring the team’s opening goal. In his comments, Sancho subtly addressed his critics and appeared to take a swipe at Manchester United.

Speaking to the Premier League media team, Sancho shared, “From the very first day, Chelsea made me feel welcome. I know there are a lot of people I need to prove wrong, and I’m just focused on working hard every day in training. When I get my chance, I aim to showcase what I can do. I’m happy to have scored and helped secure three points for the team.”

Sancho continued, “I’m just taking it one game at a time, and I hope to keep this form going. I want to thank the whole Chelsea team and staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play.”

While Sancho has faced some challenges at Chelsea, these have not significantly impacted his relationship with Maresca, and he is expected to start again when Chelsea face Astana, based in Kazakhstan, on Thursday, December 12.
