Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is under intense scrutiny following a recent slump in form. Real Madrid suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico, followed by a 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday. Their scheduled La Liga match with Valencia was postponed in between, leaving Ancelotti under pressure to change his team’s fortunes. Adding to his troubles, Aurelien Tchouameni has been ruled out with an ankle injury after leaving the field at halftime in the Milan match.

A statement from the club confirmed, “Following tests conducted today on Aurelien Tchouameni by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle. His recovery progress will be monitored.”

Though Tchouameni has faced criticism this season, his versatility in both defense and midfield makes his absence problematic for Ancelotti, who now has limited options at the back. The injury list includes Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, and Rodrygo. Real Madrid’s offensive struggles persist as well; summer signing Kylian Mbappe has yet to hit top form at Santiago Bernabeu, and Jude Bellingham is still searching for his first goal of the season. Additionally, Fede Valverde’s wife recently criticized Ancelotti in a now-deleted post, stating, “when will they finally understand that Fede is not a winger?”

This is the first time since May 2009 that Real Madrid have lost consecutive home games while conceding three or more goals in each. The team will look to bounce back against Osasuna on Saturday. Vicente Moreno’s side is currently fifth in the standings and recently secured an impressive 4-2 victory over La Liga leaders Barcelona.
