In a groundbreaking move for women’s sports, Sky Sports has announced a historic five-year partnership with the Women’s Professional League (WPL), starting from the 2025/26 season. This landmark deal will see Sky broadcast nearly 90% of all Women’s Super League (WSL) matches, significantly increasing the number of games shown from the current 44 to 118 matches per season.

Increased Coverage and Exclusive Rights
Under the new agreement, Sky will broadcast 78 fixtures exclusively, ensuring that fans have access to the best matches week in, week out. Additionally, Sky will have the option to show matches from the Women’s Championship and Women’s League Cup, including the finals. This move is expected to boost viewership and engagement, making women’s football more accessible to a broader audience.

Enhanced Viewing Experience
With the introduction of Sky Sports+, customers now have access to 50% more sports content at no extra cost. Sky Sports will continue to commit marketing spend, production budget, and promotion across its platforms to increase viewing and fandom for the women’s game. This includes dedicated social media content across Sky Sports’ WSL TikTok and Snapchat accounts to extend the WSL’s reach to even more fans.
