Everton’s prospective new owners, the Friedkin Group, have pledged to provide manager Sean Dyche with significant transfer funds in January. The American investment group, which also owns Italian side Roma, has already begun discussions with Everton’s sporting director, Kevin Thelwell, following their £500 million takeover bid.

The takeover, which could be finalized before Christmas, would give Everton additional spending power while adhering to the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Everton are currently in a stable financial position after receiving most of their Premier League TV money for the season.

However, a prompt takeover would further boost their ability to sign players in the January transfer window. The Friedkin Group is also committed to investing in Everton’s non-football departments and reducing the club’s £600 million debt. They will oversee the opening of Everton’s new 52,888-seater stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, scheduled for the 2025-26 season.
