After a difficult spell at Turkish club Ankaragucu, where he made just one appearance last season, Macheda seeks a fresh start under the management of Chelsea legend Claude Makelele, who recently took charge of Asteras. Macheda’s career includes stints at clubs like Sampdoria, Cardiff, and Panathinaikos, where he found some success.
However, his time at Ankaragucu and a loan spell at APOEL were less fruitful. With a career spanning 15 years and multiple clubs, Macheda is hopeful that his move to Greece will revive his form. Makelele aims to help the striker rediscover his best on the pitch.
