Mehdi Taremi expressed his happiness after scoring his first competitive goal for Inter and emphasized that the team’s objective this season should be to reach the Champions League Final.

Inter dominated Crvena Zvezda, securing a 4-0 victory at San Siro this evening. Hakan Calhanoglu kicked off the scoring with his first direct free-kick goal for the club. Taremi’s relentless pressing led to two recovered balls, which resulted in goals for Marko Arnautovic and Lautaro Martinez, before Taremi himself converted a late penalty.

Following the impressive win, Taremi was named Man of the Match. “I’m delighted to have scored tonight and to have performed well, thanks to my teammates. It was a great experience,” he shared with Sky Sport Italia.

This marked his first competitive goal for the Nerazzurri, and UEFA recognized his contributions by awarding him the Man of the Match title. “I’m really excited; it took some time for me to find the net, but I’ve been giving my all in training and fought hard for this moment. I was thrilled to score tonight.”

As the reigning Italian Champions, having won the Scudetto last season, and after reaching the Champions League Final in 2023—where they narrowly lost to Manchester City—Taremi outlined the team’s ambitions for the current season. “Our goal as a prominent club is to reach the Final. Inter must strive to win every match, and we will approach it step by step.”
