Former England manager Gareth Southgate is attracting attention from Premier League clubs, including Everton and Manchester United. Southgate, 54, has been out of work since resigning as England boss after their Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.

According to reports, Everton’s new potential owner, US billionaire Dan Friedkin, is considering Southgate to replace under-pressure manager Sean Dyche. Friedkin, who also owns Roma, wants to make a mark at Everton, and a managerial change could be part of his plans once his takeover is confirmed. Southgate is also the bookies’ favorite to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United if the Dutchman is sacked.

United’s poor start to the season, including defeats to Brighton and Liverpool, has put Ten Hag’s position in jeopardy. Despite these links, Southgate has expressed a desire to take his time before making any decisions about his next career move. In the meantime, he has taken up a role as a technical observer for UEFA.
