Victor Osimhen may be heading to Galatasaray on loan, but Napoli is close to securing a new contract with their key player, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
With Osimhen moving to Turkey, the 23-year-old Kvaratskhelia is expected to take on an even more prominent role in the team.
According to Il Mattino, the club and Kvaratskhelia’s agent have agreed on personal terms to extend his contract, which includes a substantial pay raise.
He had been playing on the same contract he signed when he joined from Georgian side Dinamo Batumi in the summer of 2022 for €13.3 million.
That contract earned him just €1.5 million per season, a modest sum for a player who has tallied 26 goals and 27 assists in 92 competitive appearances.
The new contract is reportedly worth around €5.5 million per season, with an additional €1.5 million in yearly bonuses.
The extension will move the contract’s end date from 2027 to June 2029, with the possibility of an option extending it to 2030.
Despite efforts by his agent, there will be no release clause included in the new deal.
