Ipswich Town could push their summer spending past £100 million with a move for Burnley defender Dara O’Shea. The Tractor Boys are leading the race for the £18 million Republic of Ireland international, with Wolves also expressing interest. Ipswich nearly secured the deal last week but were left waiting, while Wolves and Brentford continue to monitor the situation.

O’Shea, 25, started Burnley’s first two Championship matches, contributing to a 4-1 victory over Luton and a 5-0 win against Cardiff. However, he was absent from the squad in their 1-0 loss to Sunderland. In addition to O’Shea, Ipswich and Wolves are interested in Sheffield United’s Anel Ahmedhodzic, though both clubs are far from meeting his valuation.

Ipswich’s return to the Premier League has been challenging, with losses to Liverpool and Manchester City. Wolves have also struggled, losing 2-0 to Arsenal on the opening weekend and preparing to host Chelsea.
