Sven-Goran Eriksson’s close friend has provided a heartbreaking update on the 76-year-old former England manager’s battle with pancreatic cancer. Eriksson, who was diagnosed with a terminal illness in January, is now too unwell to enjoy his beloved lakeside walks by Lake Fryken, a place he cherished.

His life, including his health struggle, is featured in a new Amazon Prime Video documentary.  The film director, Claudia Corbisiero, revealed that Eriksson moved the crew to tears as he recorded his final message alone in a room. Despite his declining health, Sven expressed his wish for the documentary to be more than a sad farewell, stating he didn’t want it to be solely about his impending death.

His daughter Lina shared that he is “deteriorating quite quickly.” In a touching final message, Sven reflected on his life with gratitude, urging others to live fully and remember him as a positive person. His documentary serves as a poignant farewell to his supporters, players, and colleagues.
