Inter captain Lautaro Martinez may miss the Serie A clash against Lecce this Saturday evening, as he was absent from training with Simone Inzaghi and his teammates on Friday, according to recent reports.

Sky Sport Italia has revealed that Martinez did not participate in Friday’s session due to muscular fatigue in one of his adductors. The Nerazzurri forward had featured in Inter’s season opener, a 2-2 draw with Genoa, but hasn’t had a full pre-season.

The 25-year-old had a hectic summer, winning the Copa America with Argentina and finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals. He returned to training earlier than planned to be available for the season’s first match, just as new signing Mehdi Taremi picked up a minor injury.

Thankfully, Taremi was able to come off the bench against Genoa, and Marcus Thuram made a strong impression with a brace last weekend.
