Juventus and Genoa have finalized an agreement for Italy midfielder Fabio Miretti to join Genoa on a 12-month loan. The deal was confirmed on Friday afternoon, with Miretti expected to undergo a medical exam before the Serie A matches resume on Saturday.
It is uncertain if Miretti will be cleared in time to be included in Alberto Gilardino’s squad for their match against Monza on Saturday evening.
Miretti’s role at Juventus has diminished following Thiago Motta’s appointment, as Motta has brought in Khephren Thuram and Douglas Luiz to bolster the midfield. Despite this, Juventus rewarded the 21-year-old with a contract extension earlier this summer, extending his deal until June 2028.
Last season, Miretti made 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and providing two assists. He also made his debut for the senior Italy team in November 2022 under Roberto Mancini, coming on as a substitute for Nicolo Barella in a friendly against Austria.
