Cristiano Ronaldo, the leading figure on social media with 917 million followers across various platforms, and widely regarded as one of the greatest soccer players ever, is set to launch his own YouTube channel.

Named “UR,” the channel will debut on Wednesday and feature the 39-year-old star, who currently captains Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and the Portuguese national team. The channel will focus on his “greatest passion” — soccer — along with his other interests such as family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business. Ronaldo will also host conversations with a variety of guests.

“I am thrilled to finally bring this project to life,” Ronaldo shared. “This idea has been on my mind for a while, and now we have the chance to make it happen. I’ve always enjoyed connecting with fans on social media, and my YouTube channel will provide a larger platform to engage with them. Viewers will get a closer look at my life, my family, and my perspectives on different topics. I’m also excited to share intriguing conversations with guests that will surely surprise people!”

Throughout a stellar career that has included stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, Ronaldo has amassed 33 trophies, five UEFA Champions League titles, five Ballon d’Or awards, and a record three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Awards. He holds records for the most appearances, goals, and assists in the Champions League and European Championship, as well as the highest number of international goals and appearances. With over 890 official senior career goals, he is the top scorer of all time.

Although Ronaldo is not yet the most followed person on YouTube — a title currently held by MrBeast with 311 million subscribers — his channel is off to a spectacular start. Within just 1 hour and 29 minutes of launching, it surpassed 1 million subscribers, setting a new record for the fastest channel to reach that milestone and adding yet another achievement to Ronaldo’s impressive list.
