Neil Lennon has been sacked by Rapid Bucharest after a brief and turbulent three-month stint as manager. The former Celtic boss, who took the job in May, failed to secure a single win in his six league matches, drawing five and losing one.

Despite the mounting pressure, Lennon had insisted he had no intention of resigning, but the club ultimately decided to part ways. Rapid Bucharest confirmed the dismissal in a statement, thanking Lennon and his staff for their professionalism. The 53-year-old had previously enjoyed success with Celtic and Omonia Nicosia, winning several titles, including five Scottish Premier League championships and a Cypriot Cup.

His time at Rapid, however, was marred by rumors of controversy, including bizarre claims that Lennon had urinated on the training pitch, which both he and the club denied. Rapid also saw significant player turnover during Lennon’s tenure, with 12 new signings, including goalkeeper Benji Siegrist from Celtic.
