Juventus defender Tiago Djalo has reportedly given his consent for a transfer to Roma, who are currently finalizing the details of a loan deal with an option to buy.
Roma reached out to Juventus on Monday to discuss Djalo’s availability.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus is seeking a €1 million loan fee for the season, along with a €6 million option to buy and a share of any future transfer profits.
Recent reports indicate that Roma is prepared to offer up to €7 million for the buy option, which would replace the sell-on clause. The clubs are expected to finalize the terms shortly.
If negotiations proceed smoothly, a final agreement could be reached as soon as Tuesday night.
Should the transfer go through, Roma will be Djalo’s third Serie A club, having previously been a youth player at Milan. This would also mark the second consecutive season Juventus has loaned a defender to Roma, following Dean Huijsen’s loan for the latter part of the 2023-24 season before his move to AFC Bournemouth.
Djalo joined Juventus from Lille in January for €3.6 million plus up to €3.1 million in bonuses, moving as he was in the final six months of his Ligue 1 contract. However, with Thiago Motta favoring a back four over a back three this season, Djalo has found himself further down the pecking order. As a result, he has requested a move away from Juventus this summer, just seven months after joining.
