Fulham is on the verge of securing a deal for Burnley midfielder Sander Berge, with the club set to pay £20 million plus an additional £5 million in potential add-ons. The Norwegian international is expected to undergo a medical at Fulham’s training ground tomorrow, according to The Athletic.

This move is a significant blow to Manchester United, who had been considering Berge, 26, as a potential midfield target. The deal also puts Manchester United’s Scott McTominay in transfer limbo. Fulham has shown interest in McTominay this summer, but United has been reluctant to sell.

Crystal Palace and Brighton are also reportedly keen on the Scotland international, though United is holding out for a fee of up to £35 million. McTominay, who made 43 appearances for United last season and scored ten goals, remains a popular figure within the squad, and he would be welcomed back if a transfer does not materialize.
