On Wednesday, Romeo Beckham, 21, took to Instagram to celebrate his win, posting a photo of his dad David laughing in defeat. Romeo, a forward for Brentwood FC, proudly flashed an “L” sign to signify his dad’s loss, while David, 49, in an orange tank top and white Adidas shorts, shook his head and chuckled.

The two squared off against Argentinian tennis star Diego Schwartzman in a lively game of padel under the sun. Padel, a racket sport similar to tennis, is played in pairs on enclosed courts and gained popularity in Mexico during the 1960s.

Sharing the results of the competitive match on Instagram, Romeo, the second son of David and Victoria Beckham, boasted about his victory with a post saying, “Don’t think there’s a better feeling than beating your dad,” complete with a flexing arm emoji and a laughing face while tagging his father.

David, however, took his loss in stride, reposting Romeo’s picture with his own caption, “Had to let you win one game at least.” He also shared another photo of the trio outside the padel court, writing, “Fun Padel game against @dieschwartzman & @romeobeckham. Dad WON sorry guys England Win.” In the image, David, wearing a green Adidas tank top and white cap, grinned as Romeo peered over his shoulder. Diego, 31, went shirtless and appeared red-faced from the game.

Diego also posted a selfie with Romeo for his 715,000 followers, showing them catching their breath in the shade. Romeo, sporting a backwards Nike cap and a white tank top that highlighted his tattoo, looked just like his father. He added to the playful rivalry by commenting on David’s post with “revenge coming soon” and laughing emojis.

The Beckham family, known for their competitive spirit, frequently share their playful contests and pranks on social media.
