Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Padel court controversy ends with final verdict

This summer has been rife with speculation about Trent Alexander-Arnold, with numerous stories focusing on the Liverpool star right-back. Initially, rumors about his contract situation and Real Madrid’s interest led to heightened scrutiny of his every move, with many interpreting even minor actions as indications of his possible departure on a free transfer.

His performance in Euro 2024 added to the drama. Despite being made a scapegoat before the tournament even began, Alexander-Arnold played reasonably well in the early group stages despite being out of position and later replaced by more defensive options. He redeemed himself with a crucial penalty in the quarter-final shootout against Switzerland, but the tournament was otherwise uneventful for the 25-year-old in terms of standout moments.

On a positive note, there’s good news for Alexander-Arnold. At least one issue from this summer seems to have been resolved amicably. The Daily Mail reported in June on Trent’s ongoing efforts to secure retroactive planning permission for a padel court at his extensive Cheshire estate, which was previously owned by former Liverpool player Raheem Sterling.
