Juventus defender Tiago Djalo has reportedly asked to leave the club just eight months after joining from Lille.

Djalo, a 24-year-old center-back, transferred to Juventus in January for €3.6 million plus an additional €1.5 million in bonuses, with the deal facilitated by the imminent expiration of his contract with Lille. The transfer was made during Massimiliano Allegri’s tenure.

Since then, Djalo has struggled with injuries, particularly a significant knee operation in March 2023 that sidelined him for much of the 2023-24 season. He has only made a brief appearance for Juventus, totaling just 16 minutes during a 2-0 win against Monza in the last Serie A game of the season.

With Thiago Motta not including him in the squad for the 2024-25 season and Djalo not featuring in recent pre-season friendlies, it is believed he does not fit into the team’s future plans.

While no specific clubs have been linked with Djalo yet, Calciomercato.com suggests he is likely to move abroad rather than to another Serie A team. Additionally, Juventus might consider using him as part of a bid for Porto winger Galeno.
