Juventus triumphed 4-0 in their traditional pre-season match against the Next Gen team, highlighted by a stunning goal from Khephren Thuram. However, the game was not without controversy as Manuel Locatelli faced jeers from some fans.
This annual fixture, usually held at the training ground, took place at the Allianz Juventus Stadium this year, drawing a crowd of 40,000. Coach Thiago Motta excluded players not part of his plans, such as Federico Chiesa, Wojciech Szczesny, Arkadiusz Milik, and Weston McKennie.
The match was limited to one hour, split into two 30-minute halves. Despite the debut of Douglas Luiz, the slow pace of the game led to early dissatisfaction among the fans, with some booing during the opening moments.
Danilo’s opening goal and Timothy Weah’s solo strike four minutes later eased the tension. Nonetheless, a portion of the crowd expressed their displeasure with Locatelli, though this was countered by applause from other fans.
In the second half, Kenan Yildiz scored from a Douglas Luiz corner, and Thuram delivered a memorable lob from distance to cap off the match.
