Roma has continuously pursued Federico Chiesa and remains the leading contender to sign the Juventus outcast, despite interest from Napoli, Inter, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Over the weekend, Juventus made it clear that Chiesa will not be part of their future plans, as his contract expires at the end of the season with no intentions to renew it.
Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, recently met with Chelsea and Tottenham in London, but talks reportedly stalled. Napoli and Inter are also monitoring the situation.
Despite appearing to shift focus when investing €25.6 million plus up to €4 million in add-ons for Chiesa’s Juventus teammate Matias Soulé, Roma remains committed to negotiating for Chiesa.
The asking price for Chiesa could fall to €15 million, which would prevent Juventus from making a net loss on their €60 million investment. Coach Daniele De Rossi even hinted at his interest by liking a post on Chiesa’s Instagram showing him training in Turin.
Among all the clubs interested in Chiesa, Roma has been the most consistently enthusiastic about signing him.
