Milan is optimistic that Tottenham Hotspur will allow Emerson Royal to undergo his medical examination within the next 48 hours, following several months of negotiations.
Earlier this summer, the right-back expressed his desire to move to San Siro and reached an agreement on personal terms. However, finalizing the deal with Tottenham proved challenging.
Reports from Tuttosport and Tuttomercatoweb suggest that the discussions are now nearing completion, and everything could be wrapped up within 48 hours.
The total cost of the transfer is expected to be €15 million plus €1-2 million in performance-related bonuses, which may be difficult to achieve. This represents a reduction from Tottenham’s initial asking price of €18 million plus bonuses, though it is still higher than Milan had hoped to spend.
Emerson Royal has been a long-term target for Milan. The 25-year-old Brazilian, who has 10 senior caps for his country, has impressed the Rossoneri with his versatility, capable of playing as a right-back, in a more advanced role, or even in central defense if necessary.
His contract with Tottenham runs until June 2026, but he was signed from Barcelona for €25 million in the summer of 2021. During his time with Spurs, Emerson Royal made 101 appearances, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
