Lautaro Martinez is set to cut his vacation short and return early to Milan after Argentina’s Copa America victory, aiming to help Inter start their season strongly.

Initially, Martinez was slated to enjoy a few more days off following Argentina’s triumph in the summer tournament in the USA, which came after their World Cup win in Qatar in 2022.

However, Sky Sport Italia reports that Martinez is now expected back in Milan tomorrow instead of waiting until August 8.

Martinez’s early return is a significant gesture of commitment to his team and will assist coach Simone Inzaghi, especially with Mehdi Taremi sidelined for two to three weeks due to a muscle injury.

With Marcus Thuram just returning from his vacation after competing in EURO 2024, options up front are limited. Joaquin Correa started in tonight’s friendly against Pisa, with Inter’s Serie A campaign set to kick off against Genoa on August 17.
