Sky Germany reports that Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt will return from his European Championship break on Friday to undergo pre-season medical exams in Munich. Despite ongoing speculation about his future, De Ligt remains dedicated to preparing for the upcoming season with Bayern Munich, even as the club considers his potential departure.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are still far apart in negotiations, with Bayern reportedly seeking €50 million (£42m/$54m) plus additional bonuses. The two clubs are about €15 million (£13m/$16m) apart in their valuations of De Ligt, causing the talks to stall for now.
De Ligt will miss Bayern’s pre-season tour of Asia, which includes a match against Tottenham. Along with him, other notable absentees include Olympic participant Michael Olise, and European Championship returnees Kingsley Coman, Dayot Upamecano, Leroy Sane, Harry Kane, and Alphonso Davies.
As De Ligt prepares for the new season with Bayern Munich, the uncertainty surrounding his transfer remains.
