Tanner Tessmann has become Fiorentina’s top target to strengthen their midfield this summer, and an offer to Venezia is in the works, seizing the opportunity after Inter Milan’s move fell through.
Inter Milan had shown strong interest in the 22-year-old American midfielder, with negotiations progressing rapidly with Venezia, indicating that a deal was nearly finalized. However, it all fell apart at the last moment due to disagreements over his salary and future role at the club.
Under new coach Raffaele Palladino, Fiorentina has been active this summer, securing Marin Pongracic, Moise Kean, and Andrea Colpani. The Viola are also eyeing Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei and Juventus’ Weston McKennie.

Today’s Corriere dello Sport (page 26) reports that Fiorentina director Daniele Pradè has been in close contact with Venezia, preparing to offer around €5-6m for Tessmann as they aim to enhance Palladino’s midfield.
The main challenge for Fiorentina is Tessmann’s salary demands, but the club is optimistic that an agreement can be reached soon. The American midfielder has already shown interest in the move to Florence.
