AC Milan are nearing a deal with RB Salzburg for Strahinja Pavlovic, with the transfer potentially being finalized next week, according to recent reports.

Under the guidance of new coach Paulo Fonseca, the Rossoneri are eager to strengthen their defense and have identified the 23-year-old Serbian center-back as a prime target for several weeks. They believe Pavlovic would be an ideal addition to their project in Lombardy.

Additionally, Milan may sell Malick Thiaw in the coming days, with strong interest from Newcastle United. Thiaw’s departure would create a perfect opportunity for Pavlovic to partner with Fikayo Tomori in the defense.

The latest edition of Corriere dello Sport, on page 30, highlights that Pavlovic is on the verge of joining Milan. He is awaiting an agreement between Milan and RB Salzburg, having turned down an offer from Atletico Madrid to facilitate his move to Italy.

RB Salzburg is asking for €25 million for the 23-year-old, while Milan is prepared to offer a base fee of €20 million plus additional bonuses, which is likely to seal the deal. The club has already reached personal terms with Pavlovic, offering him a five-year contract worth €1.5 million net per season plus add-ons.
