Zlatan Ibrahimovic aspires to be Milan’s 13th player this season and shared that he convinced Alvaro Morata that wearing the Rossoneri’s No.9 jersey is an exceptional opportunity.

Ibrahimovic briefly spoke to the media before Milan’s friendly against Manchester City.

The former striker played a pivotal role in persuading Morata to join Milan. The Spaniard, currently on holiday after winning the Euros with Spain, will join his teammates following their pre-season tour in the USA.

“I told him that Milan is the perfect place and that the No.9 role is the best we can offer, especially with players like Pulisic, Rafael Leao, and Chukwueze supporting him,” Ibrahimovic said, as reported by Gazzetta.

“We want to ensure he is happy here, which will help him perform better. I don’t know of any player who is unhappy here, where you can focus solely on football. We are extremely confident and optimistic and welcome him with open arms.

“I aim to be Milan’s 13th player on the field,” Ibra concluded.

“Fans are the 12th player, and I am the 13th.”

Ibrahimovic also appeared with Christian Pulisic in an interview on CBS Mornings, stating that playing football was ‘easier’ than his current role. Ibra was appointed as RedBird’s Advisor in December 2023 and collaborates closely with club directors on transfers and long-term projects.

Milan will face Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona during the Soccer Champions Tour and will start their 2024-25 Serie A season against Torino on August 17.
