Former Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo has criticized Middlesbrough for an alleged medical misdiagnosis that he claims halted his career. The 31-year-old Frenchman, who spent four years with Arsenal and won the 2014 FA Cup, struggled to find consistent form, scoring just once in 20 appearances.

Sanogo, after stints at Crystal Palace, Ajax, Charlton, and Toulouse, aimed to return to English football in 2020 with Middlesbrough. However, a failed medical due to a supposed shoulder issue derailed the move, despite French specialists later confirming his shoulder was fine. Sanogo expressed his frustration, stating that the misdiagnosis led to false media reports and made other clubs wary of signing him, severely impacting his career.

He considered quitting football but eventually played for Huddersfield, Armenian club Urartu, and now Chinese second-tier side Qingdao Red Lions. Sanogo shared his satisfaction with his current situation, noting the enthusiastic fan support in China. Middlesbrough declined to comment on his allegations.
