Fiorentina are deeply engaged in negotiations to acquire Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei, but securing the deal proves challenging.
The 21-year-old Italian midfielder spent the first half of last season on loan at Leicester City, working under Enzo Maresca, before returning to Chelsea in January. He made a few brief appearances before the season ended.
Casadei’s omission from Maresca’s squad for Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the United States, along with Romelu Lukaku, who is linked with Napoli, suggests he may not be part of the team next season.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Fiorentina has been actively negotiating with Chelsea to finalize a transfer for Casadei, though they have yet to agree on the terms. The Viola are aiming to secure the Italian talent on loan.
Fiorentina continues to pursue the deal, hoping to reach an agreement soon and bring Casadei back to Italy for the 2024-25 season.
