Former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino believes the club should sell Enzo Fernandez after the Argentina star filmed himself and his teammates singing a racist song about the French national team. The clip sparked backlash, with several Chelsea players, including Wesley Fofana, unfollowing Fernandez on social media. Fofana even condemned the “uninhibited racism.”

SunSport reports a significant dressing room divide at Chelsea ahead of the new Premier League season. Despite Fernandez’s apology, his relationship with the club’s French contingent remains strained. Cascarino argues that Fernandez’s actions could permanently alienate him from the squad, suggesting Chelsea should sell him despite the £105 million investment.

Cascarino told talkSPORT, “I think Chelsea have got a major decision on whether they actually keep Enzo Fernandez. Having players not happy with a guy in the dressing room, I’m not sure there will be many that comfortable with some of the things that have gone on.” Cascarino also mentioned a possible solution for Fernandez: “He’s going to have to apologize to the squad face-to-face and maybe then there will be a bit more forgiveness.”
